Washington, D.C. is home to our federal government as well as a cultural and historical metropolis that offers so many things for visitors to experience. During your visit, you can explore all that the city has to offer, from monuments and museums to concerts and theater. Our nation’s capital has something to offer for everyone.
I am happy to provide tours of the United States Capitol and arrange tours for Alabamians at other notable D.C. locations to help make your visit a positive experience. Below, you’ll find a list of the landmarks where my office can help facilitate tours and tickets.

The United States Capitol, designed originally to be the center of Washington, is among the most recognizable buildings in the world, as it is the center of the American legislature. Our staff is happy to personally give Alabamians a tour of the Capitol, but you can also book your own tour through the Capitol’s Visitor’s Center. The tours typically last one hour.
The White House is the center of the executive branch and home to the U.S. President. Tours of the White House are able to be requested on a first-come, first-serve basis. All tour requests must be submitted at a minimum of 21 days in advance but no more than six months in advance. As tours of the White House are limited in availability, we cannot guarantee you a tour. The White House Visitors Office will confirm the availability of the tour about 14 days prior to the requested date. These tours are self-guided, so they can be done on your own pace.
Also known as the J. Edgar Hoover Building, is an opportunity to learn more about the important work the FBI does to protect the city and the country. Tours must be booked 15 days in advance through a congressional office. The tour itself will take about two hours. The FBI Experience Tour is also self-guided, so they can be done on your own pace.
See first-hand how the U.S. paper currency, postage stamps, and Treasury notes are made. The tours are 45 minutes long and are generally open from March - August. You can reach out to my office for more details on availability.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts memorializes the president and is the United States National Cultural Center. Our staff would be happy to help arrange a tour for you Monday through Friday. Tours are led by volunteers at the Kennedy Center.
