Academy Nominations

Academy Nominations

As a U.S. Senator, I have the honor of nominating young adults for admissions to our country's five military service academies. Any individual interested in attending one of the academies must first apply directly to the academy. To complete the admissions process, the applicant must also receive a nomination from a member of Congress or the Vice President in order to be offered an appointment to an Academy. If you are applying to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, you do not need a congressional nomination.

Applications for Academy Nominations must be completed and received by my office no later than Monday, October 15, 2018 at 5:00 PM Central Time.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 17-22 years old as of July 1st of the year of admission to a service academy.
  • U.S. citizen
  • Unmarried
  • Not pregnant
  • No legal obligation to support any dependents

Nomination Process

Each United States Senator, United States Representative, and the Vice President may not have more than five people attending each academy at any given time.

The application for a nomination from my office can be found here. If you have any questions about the nomination process or need assistance, please contact one of my offices here.
