Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Doug Jones today announced that Seth Brand, a high school senior attending The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Ala., has earned an offer of appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. Senator Jones nominated Brand to the academy following an intensive application and interview process last fall.
“Seth will make an excellent addition to the United States Air Force Academy, and I look forward to seeing him succeed at the Academy and as an Air Force officer and pilot in the future. I have every confidence Seth will represent and serve the State of Alabama and our nation extremely well,” said Senator Jones, who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Seth Brand is an accomplished honors student and a talented soccer player for both The Montgomery Academy varsity soccer team and the Capital City Streaks premier soccer club. He is also a frequent volunteer in the Montgomery community and as a referee for the American Youth Soccer Organization. Seth is the son of Matthew and Julie Brand and attends Frazer United Methodist Church. His future plans include obtaining a degree in political science and pursuing a career as an Air Force pilot.
Additional announcements will be made as other appointments are offered to Alabama students who were nominated by Senator Jones.
